Staff Coach- Jim Hesch


Jim Hesch is the founder and director of Black Watch NY West Soccer.

Hesch is currently the D'Youville College Men's Soccer Assistant Coach.  Hesch recently spent two years working with the professional team the Rochester Lancers of the Major Indoor Soccer League. The first year was spent as an assistant coach with last year taking the helm as Head Coach.  Hesch spent 10 years as the head coach at Canisius, becoming the school’s all-time wins leader in 2007.  Hesch also spent time on staff with the University at Buffalo Men's Team, FC Buffalo and NYSW ODP.

As a collegiate player, Hesch won a national championship with Southern Connecticut University in 1990 before transferring to Cortland State, where he played from 1991-93 and was named a first-team All-American. He earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education in 1994.

A Central New York native, Hesch played in the National Professional Indoor Soccer League from 1995-2002, Hesch scored 165 goals and recorded 144 assists in his 249-game career with the Canton Invaders, Harrisburg Heat, Columbus Invaders, Buffalo Blizzard and Philadelphia KiXX. He began playing during the 1995 season and last took the pitch during the 2001/2002 campaign. Hesch was named an NPSL All-Star in the 1997-98 season after posting 119 points, the eighth-best single-season total in Heat history. In 2002, Hesch captured a Major Indoor Soccer League championship as a member of the 2001/2002 Philadelphia Kixx, tallying 36 points in 28 games.

Hesch currently holds his USSF National "A" Coaching License as well as USSF National "Youth" Coaching License.
